Maxis Simulation Bundle "SimMania Pack"

According to online game store MAC-O-RAMA, Maxis and Electronic Arts seem to have released SimMania Pack. SimMania Pack is a bundle pack of 4 simulation games from Maxis including SimCity, SimTower, SimIsle, and SimSafari. Available as hybrid CD-ROM at retail stores in USA. Note that Streets of SimCity and SimCopter included in the package are Windows only and NOT Mac compatible.

Toy Story 2 Action Game Released

Disney Interactive has released Disney/Pixar's Action Game, Toy Story 2. It is a 3D action game based on the newest animation film Toy Story 2 where Buzz Lightyear explores the Toy Story world to rescue kidnapped Woody. It features high quality realtime 3D graphics, as many as 15 immense worlds to explore, a number of full-voiced Toy Story characters, a lot of movie clips, a variety of actions and special items. Requires PowerPC G3/233 MHz or better (iMac supported), Mac OS 8.1 or later, RAM 32 MB or larger, free HD 60 MB or larger, 32,000 colors or better, CD-ROM 24x or faster. Arithmetic Board Game "Ishidatami"

Kiyoshi Takeuchi* has released Ishidatami*. Ishidatami is an arithmetic board game where 1 or 2 players put randomly given numbers on 7 x 7 board to make larger products. It requires luck and tactics rather than arithmetic ability to win the game. Also, watching computer vs. computer games is available. File size is 1.1 MB* (more info*). Freeware. Japanese software.

Housekeeping Robot Role Playing "Robo"

Takeshi Sakai* has released Robo*. Robo is a role playing simulation game of a robot in near-future. It features unique game play where player takes a role of a housekeeping robot and perform various task such as schedule management and cooking. File size is 1.8 MB* (more info*). Requires Japanese System 7.1 or later, free memory 8 MB or larger, free HD 3.1 MB or larger. Freeware or voluntary shareware. Japanese software.

Fantasy Adventure Game Stack "Find"

TAKUsoft* has released Find*. Find is a fantasy role playing adventure game stack where player, as a little fencer Haruka explores world to take revenge for his brother's death on the black knight. It is simple game but features unique graphics and an elaborated story line. File size is 798 KB* (more info). Requires HyperCard Japanese Version 2.2 or later. Freeware but users must send a mail to the author (mailware). Japanese software.

MacDo is a 2D digging arcade game like classic Mr.Do or Dig Dug where player digging caves while avoiding and attacking enemy characters and gathers all cherries in the ground. Morisuke* has released Marukara*. Marukara is a unique puzzle game using the Othello or Reversi rule where player moves and flips tokens to make them into the same color. Simple Jumping Arcade Game "Kawazu"

Kiyoshi Takeuchi* has released Kawazu*. Kawazu is a simple arcade game where a frog jumps to escape from a well. The game uses only a single key to jump but it requires delicate control of timing and duration of the key tapping. File size is 619 KB* (more info*). Freeware. Japanese software.

Slapping Arcade Game "Smash B"

Higaki Software* has released Smash B*. Smash B is a unique slapping arcade game where 1 or 2 players slap opponent's face as fast as possible. It features various game modes such as computer vs. computer watch mode and 3 player mode with an extra signaler. File size is 3.4 MB*. Variety Tile-sliding Puzzle Game "Sequence A GoGo!"

Maym* has released Sequence A GoGo!*. Sequence A GoGo! is an orthodox tile-sliding puzzle game with a variety of game modes and themes. It includes Sequence Mode to arrange numbered tiles in the order with up to 10 x 10 board and Pattern Mode to make designated color patterns such as Vortex and Diamond. File size is 2.4 MB*. MACWORLD Expo/Tokyo: YOU DON'T KNOW JACK Japanese Version Features Popular Japanese Comedian

Yoshimoto Kogyo*, Osaka-based major comedian office, and HAMSTER* (booth 601: Consumer Showcase) has demonstrated upcoming YOU DON'T KNOW JACK Japanese Version. YOU DON'T KNOW JACK (developer: Berkeley Systems) is American popular trivia quiz game with as many as 250 questions and hilarious game play. The Japanese version features not only Japanese translation but also totally localized content featuring the Japanese most famous comedian "Hama-chan" as the host of the game. Expected on March 23.

MACWORLD Expo/Tokyo: World's First Voodoo5 Demonstration at the Expo

3dfx Interactive (booth 601: Consumer Showcase) demonstrates Voodoo5 at the Expo. It is the world's first demonstration of the products preceding Intel Developer Forum and CeBIT 2000. Voodoo5 is the newest version of scalable 3D accelerator architecture that consists of a number of VSA-100 cutting edge graphic chip. It features 3D drawing in best quality and performance as well as powerful hardware effects such as anti aliasing and motion blur. In the booth, Star Wars: Episode I Racer is used to demonstrate. Products and drivers are expected to be released the quarter starting May through July.

MACWORLD Expo/Tokyo: The Expo Key Note Speech: Many New Hardware Announced, Mac OS X Demonstrated in Japanese Mode

In today's key note speech, Steve Jobs has announced Many new Apple* hardware; new iBooks with 2x RAM and HD, cool black/white-colored iBook Special Edition, new PowerBook G3 with PowerPC G3/500 MHz, FireWire and Rage Mobility 128, and new Power Macintosh G4 with PowerPC G4/500 MHz. All are expected on February 18. Also he demonstrated Mac OS X showing Japanese text. Mac OS X will be true international system and includes 17,000 characters extended Japanese character set of 6 type faces.

MACWORLD Expo/Tokyo Opened

MACWORLD Expo/Tokyo 2000* is held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan from today February 16 through 19. It is the world largest Mac exposition with over 180,000 visitors expected. Also, there may be several game-related exhibitors such as 3dfx Interactive showing Voodoo5 Mac version the first time in the world.
