- -- Quiver 1.02 (Scott Kevill): Full-featured CAD-class Quake map editor. Version 1.02 features several improvements and fixes such as 3Dfx preview mode. File size is 707 KB (more info). Shareware $20.

Starbound II Updated to 0.97, The Final Candidate
- Catfish Software has updated Starbound II to version 0.97. Starbound II is a networkable strategic space conquest game which has various features including space battle, ground battle, colony development, diplomacy, and many others. Version 0.97 features many improvements including the auto mode of orbital combat and fixes of all known bugs. It is the final candidate release and the full CD-ROM version will be available in a few weeks unless serious bug found. Currently, only PowerPC version is available. File size is 8.1 MB (more info). POSTAL Add-on Pack "SPECIAL DELIVERY" Announced
- Running with Scissors announced "POSTAL: SPECIAL DELIVERY". It is an add-on pack for POSTAL, a psycho thriller 3D action strategy game. The add-on contains various new scenario such as "a homeless buffet", "an earthquake survivalist camp", and "the most dangerous golf resort on Earth". It also features many new characters including "lawyers" and "Red Cross workers", hundreds of new audio effects and sound bites, new game modes. For ages 17 and up. 3D-Like Inertia Fighting Arcade "SUMO 1.0.2"
- Stephen Linhart has released SUMO 1.0.2. SUMO is a 3D-like inertia fighting arcade game inspired by Japanese sumo wrestling. Player controls a ball and hit opponent's ball to get it out of the arena. It features the good feeling of inertia and various opponent ball characters. Bubblomania Updated to Version 1.5.4
- Jochen De Schepper of SwordLord has updated Bubblomania to version 1.5.4. Bubblomania is a simple arcade game where player controls the needle to crash bubbles coming to the surface. Version 1.5.4 improves opening graphics and allows to open background art files directly from Finder. X-Plane Updated to 4.15, Demo and Upgrade Consolidated into One File
- Laminar Research has updated X-Plane, a full-featured comprehensive civilian flight simulator, to version 4.15. In the version 4.15, the demo file and upgrade file are consolidated into one file where using joystick is limited to 5 minutes without CD-ROM. The latest version also features various improvements and fixes. Demo/Upgrade file size is 22.6 MB (more info), updater from previous version (maybe 4.13) is 9.2 MB (more info).
Followup: As of September 9, X-Plane has been updated to version 4.21.
Quiver Updated to 1.01
- Scott Kevill has updated Quiver, a full-featured CAD-class Quake map editor, to version 1.01. Version 1.01 features many improvements and fixes such as ones related to the hierarchy view and the entity definitions handling. File size is 705 KB (more info). Shareware $20.

- IWS Interactive posted the demo of their upcoming Manhattan Apartment Hunter. Manhattan Apartment Hunter is an adventure game set in New York based on a unique story where player is encountered unexpected mystery while searching for a new apartment. The graphics consist real photos of Manhattan and in-door graphics by 3D CG. Also features full voice conversation scenes using voice actors/actress. File Size is 32.3 MB. Hurry Up!! Bruce!! Released
- Masaru's MatchBox* has released "Hurry Up!! Bruce!!*". Hurry Up!! Bruce!! is a simple side-scrolling arcade game where player chases a running criminal while jumping over obstacles and getting hamburgers. It features the cartoon-like graphics and the humorous characters with full voices. File size is 3.0 MB*. Requires PowerPC, QuickTime 2.5 or later. Freeware. Japanese software.
TRON-ish Released
- Foxchange Productions has released TRON-ish. TRON-ish is a two-player arcade game like TRON where players run around the field while avoiding ruts both players have left. TRON-ish features powerful enhancements such as smooth scrolling field and weapons. File size is 378 KB. Shareware $5.

- Scott Kevill has released Quiver. Quiver is a full-featured Quake map editor with CAD-class quality. It features texture-mapped 3D views, 3D walk through, object subtraction to cut a hole, hierarchical object grouping, drag and drop support, and other powerful functions to make complex maps easily. - -- Dasshutsu Kikai 2.51J* (Takaaki Mizuno*): Puzzle arcade game where player controls a robot and lead it to the exit. Version 2.51J supports double-clicking of a stage data file. File Size is 368 KB*. Freeware but users must register. Japanese software.
Followup: As of August 25, Dasshutsu Kikai has been updated to version 2.52 fixing a bug that prevents the preference dialog box.

New 4 Titles Released from "Shock Price 500" Series
- SME Intermedia* has released new 4 titles of Shock Price 500 Series. Shock Price 500 Series is a line of low price game CD-ROM. The new 4 titles are as following:
-- Mah-Jong II*: Second installment of Mah Jong game featuring stronger and unique computer opponents.
-- Shogi*: Low price shogi game (Japanese chess-like board game) with speech and editor.
-- Pachinko*: Pachinko parlor simulation game featuring 3 popular tables.
-- Dasshutsu!*: Sokoban-type 2D puzzle arcade game where player move the containers to the given position.

Little Wing Posted Golden Logres Pinball Demo
- LittleWing, well-known for popular pinball simulations CrystalCaliburn and Loony Labyrinth, posted the demo of the latest pinball game "Golden Logres". Each play time is limited to 60 seconds but user can choose 3 different tables from a menu. File size is 26.8 MB*. Requires Japanese System, but the table designs and voice effects themselves are all in English. LittleWing also has the demos of their other titles including their previous Angel Egg (more info*).
Followup: LittleWing has opened their English site and announced that English version of Angel Egg and Golden Logres are coming soon.

Enhanced Tic-Tac-Toe Game "Trilite 2.0"
- John Mauro Software has released Trilite 2.0. Trilite 2.0 is a Tic-Tac-Toe-type game with challenging enhancement where two players put tokens alternately to line up 3 tokens, but, unlike usual Tic-Tac-Toe, each tokens endures only for 3 hands; each player can have at most 3 tokens at a time. 2D Puzzle Game "Akeyan Enigma"

Macintosh Football Manager Updated 2.05
- Malcolm McQuoid has updaterd Macintosh Football Manager, a soccer management simulation game to version 2.05. Version 2.05 fixes a bug that caused crashes at the end of season and imbroves the Assistant Screen. Demo size is 840 KB (more info). Available directly for £20 or $35.
Site Opened for Ambrosia's Upcoming "Ferazel's Wand"
- Ben Spees of Mixed Metaphor Software, who is well-known for Harry the Handsome Executive, opened the site for Ambrosia's upcoming Ferazel's Wand. Ferazel's Wand is a 2D action arcade game of wizardry and magic where player, as a wizard, explores the world while fighting against the enemies by magical spells, weapons, and techniques. It features 2D but high quality graphics thanks to horizontal/vertical parallax scrolling, full-animated characters, and various effects such as lighting and particles. Also, it has a large-scaled world with dozens of unique, multilayered levels as well as over 50 types of spells and weapons. Requires PowerPC. Expected by the end of this year or early next year.
Realistic Lure Fishing Simulation "THE SEA BASS" to be Released on September 18
- PONYCANYON* releases THE SEA BASS* on September 18. THE SEA BASS is a realistic sea bass fishing simulation where player challenges a tournament using variety of real-world's lures. Requires PowerPC, RAM 16 MB or larger, 640 x 480/32,000 colors or better, CD-ROM 4x or faster. It will be available as hybrid CD-ROM at retail stores in Japan. Also, preorder* is available now for ¥5,800. Japanese software.
13th Installment of Train Simulator Series to be Released on September 18
- PONYCANYON* releases Train Simulator: JR Hokkaido 1* on September 18. Train Simulator* is a series of realistic train driving simulators using QuickTime movies where player can drive a real-world's train of various companies. It is developed by Ongakukan, a software house founded by Minoru Mukaiya who is musician and most popular train enthusiast. Requires Japanese Mac OS. Preorder* is available now for ¥5,800. Japanese software.
Tempus Irae 2: The Lost Levels Coming Soon
- Nardo announced the upcoming release of Tempus Irae 2: The Lost Levels. Tempus Irae 2 is a sequel to Tempus Irae, the popular full-scaled total conversion set for Marathon Infinity. It features new 10 levels for solo play and 11 levels for net play with new story line. Nardo opened new Tempus Irae 2 page and posted screen shots and a movie.
Patrice Mallette Updated 3 Titles, Now Released as Freeware
- Patrice Mallette has updated following 3 titles:
-- Skyracers 1.2: Roll and move game where player must moves the spaceship to the goal before the opponent reaches it. File size is 1.2 MB.
-- ColorMind 1.6: MasterMind puzzle game where player guesses color sequence. File size is 1.6 MB.
-- Traditions 1.3: Realistic wedding simulation game where player must consider budget and stress to bring success to the plan. File size is 6.3 MB.
All above were sharewares before these updates, but now become freewares. He is also developing a new board style arcade game MazeBall where player rolls a ball in the maze.

- Marcus Boxall has released Beached II. - Graphic Simulations posted beta updater (1.01b1) of F/A-18 Korea, a multipurpose fighter simulator supports 3Dfx. Version 1.01b1 now supports new 3Dfx Voodoo 2 graphic cards. Updater size is 774 KB (more info).
Radical Tank Battle Game "War Machines"
- Monkey Farm Software has released War Machines. War Machines is a simple tank battle arcade game only for 2 players. The players control each machine in split scrolling screen and defeat alien weapons by shooting or simply pushing into them. It features radical music, sounds, and visual effects. Although it has only one stage and no goal, Monkey Farm Software plans to develop full-featured version if there is enough response from users. File size is 973 KB. - ElegantSoft has updated Bubbles to version 1.3. Stormbird Mac Poll to Research Mac Users' Demand for the Upcoming Flight Simulator
- Crosswind Simulations opens Stormbird Mac Poll page to research Mac users' demand for upcoming flight simulator "Stormbird". Stormbird is a shareware WWII flight simulator of German jet fighters Me 262 and Me 163. It features various interesting game modes including "Historical" and "WWII-1946" mode. Also features editors to create camouflage coloring/missions/campaigns and the 3D reference section listing all units.
The Mac Poll page only asks your E-mail address and whether you want Mac port. Crosswind Simulations seems to be eager to port Stormbird to Macintosh if there is enough interest.

- Catfish Software has urgently updated Starbound II, a networkable strategic space conquest game, to version 0.96. Version 0.96 fixes an odd bug that occasionally wiped out the population. Macintosh Football Manager 2.01 Released
- Malcolm McQuoid has released Macintosh Football Manager 2.01. Macintosh Football Manager is a soccer management simulation game where player manages a team to let them win the Premier Championship and the FA Cup. Version 2.01 features the new optimized program written entirely by Pascal rather than HyperCard as previous version. The newest version also features many improvements and fixes in the game play and user interfaces. Demo of version 2.0 is available (1.6 MB, more info). Requires 68030 or better, System 7.1 or better (Mac OS 8 compatible), free memory 2.3 MB or larger (3 MB or larger recommended, 4 MB or larger for PowerPC), free HD 2 MB or larger, 640 x 480/256 colors or better, QuickTime (Musical Instruments recommended). Available directly for £20 or $35.
Followup: As of August 19, both full version and demo version of Macintosh Football Manager has been updated to 2.05. Demo size is 840 KB.

InputSprocket 1.3 Released for Developers
- Apple Computer has released InputSprocket 1.3 for developers. InputSprocket is a input library of Apple's Game Sprockets which is used in some recent games and offers user interface to combine a joystick, mouse, keyboard, and even speech recognition for control the game. Version 1.3 features many bug fixes and new drivers for various devices such as MacALLY and several USB joysticks. File size of DrawSprocket 1.3 developer's kit is 3.0 MB (more info).
