Welcome to The Museum of Fujimi Kougen



 The theme of this museum is "Nature in Fujimi heights and literature to the place", and writers connected with Fujimi are mainly introduced.
 The inside of the museum is divided into four sections as follows:

 


Fujimi fields and the poets of the "Araragi" school.

  Fujimi fields was loved by the tanka poets of the "Araragi"
 school, and the meetings for creating a tanka poem was often
 held there. In the Fujimi park his own designed by Sachio Ito,
 a famous tanka poet, there are many monuments, for example, 
 the one of Sachio, Akahiko Shimagi, Mokichi Saitoh and so on.
 In this section, these poets' materials of "Araragi" school are
 always displayed. In this section, motion pictures on television
 also show you the information of "Araragi" school and Fujimi
 heights.


 

Writers who wrote their works on the scenes of the Fujimi heights sanitarium.

  The Fujimi heights sanitarium is well-known in Japan   
 because the sanitarium's name has widely spread over   
 the country by Fujokyu Masaki, the first director of the   
 sanitarium, many writers and celebrities who were     
 hospitalized there, and through these writers' works.    
 In this section, writers, mainly along with their works on   
 the scenes of this sanitarium, are introduced to you.    


 

I lived in Fujimi fields and worked there.−Kihachi Ozaki −

  Kihachi Ozaki, a poet, had lived in the "Bunsui cottage" for  
 seven years since 1946. In a room of this cottage surrounded  
 by forests, he wrote many poems featured in the collected  
 poems "Loneliness in blossoms", which was one of his  
 masterpieces, and many essays which described the nature of  
 the Fujimi heights and living people there. And there he started  
 his rich later years. This section always displays mainly   
 materials in the period of his stay in Fujimi. The introductions   
 of him by motion picture is also available in this section.   



 

Writers (who wrote many works) connected with the Fujimi heights.

  Many writers had visited the Fujimi heights for a long time  
 and left their traces in various places of Fujimi.  
  Among these writers, Masuji Ibuse, Junzo Karaki, Torahiko  
 Tamiya, Katai Tayama, Kouji Uno and so on, who created  
 many works adopting the Fujimi heights as a subject matter,  
 are introduced to you in this section.

 ◆Opening hours:9:30 a.m.through 5:30 p.m.(You can't enter this museum after 5:00 p.m.)
 ◆The day closed: Monday, the next day of national holiday,the beginning and end the year
 ◆Admission (entrance) fee:
  Adult 300 yen (200 yen )/ Elementary and Junior high student 150 yen (100 yen)
  *The number given in parentheses indicates the reduced fares of a party (group) of persons or more.
 ◆Transportation (means of transport):
  (It takes you) about three minutes to walk here after getting off at Fujimi station on the JR Chuo line.
  / about ten minutes drive to here from the Suwa-Minami interchange of the Chuo expressway.
